Born in the Bronx, NY, to Dominican parents, Jay grew up in a household immersed in art and music, thanks to parents who prioritized creative expression. In December 1997, at the age of six, Jay relocated to the Dominican Republic with his mother and two of 4 sisters and 1 older brother, who sought a new chapter for the family. It was there that a simple acoustic guitar with nylon strings ignited a lifelong passion for music.

Through self-taught exploration, observing musicians at church, and watching MTV and VH1, Jay mastered the basics of guitar and later expanded their musical skills  by learning drums. As a teenager, he joined a local rock band, recording songs on and releasing them on MySpace and performing in Santo Domingo’s vibrant music scene.

In 2009, Jay returned to New York, determined to turn his dream of a music career into reality. Years of dedication led to the release of their first single, “Tú,” in 2016, followed by the debut album 27 in 2018. Written by Jay and co-produced with close collaborator Randy Wisky, 27 showcased Jay’s growth as an artist. A subsequent media tour in the Dominican Republic brought their music to millions through TV and radio appearances.

Today, Jay continues to captivate audiences with live performances across the East Coast while releasing fresh singles that reflect their evolving artistry.
